Mixing Your Balm
Step One: Open Your Balm
Remove the lid from your new balm. Because our balm is made with a concentrated blend of natural waxes and oils, the texture may vary slightly as these ingredients cool and settle.
Step Two: Break Up & Mix
Using a clean fork, gently press into the balm to break up the firm upper layer.
Rotate the tin as you mix, scraping around the edges and working the balm from the outside toward the center. Continue mixing for about one minute, making sure the waxes and oils are thoroughly blended.
Step Three: Ready to Use
Once mixed, your balm should have a softer, more uniform consistency. A few small pieces of firmer wax are completely normal. They will soften and melt as the balm is massaged into warm skin.
If you’d like an even smoother consistency, simply mix the balm again.
To Apply: Massage a small amount into the skin until evenly distributed. If you’ve applied more than you need, gently dab away the excess with a clean cloth or paper towel.
Multi-Purpose Saddle Balm
for Anti-Chafe and Much, Much, More!
Before First Use —
Because Saddle Balm is made with a concentrated blend of natural waxes and oils, the balm may settle and develop an uneven or grainy texture as it cools. This is normal and does not affect the quality of the balm.
When you first open your tin:
Break up the balm with a clean fork or similar utensil.
Mix thoroughly for at least one minute, working the balm from the edges towards the center.
Scrape around the sides and bottom of the tin as you mix to incorporate all of the waxes and oils.
Continue mixing until the balm develops a smooth, uniform consistency.
Smooth the surface with the back of the fork or a clean utensil, replace the lid, and your balm is ready to use.
You only need to do this when first opening the balm. Once thoroughly mixed, simply apply a small amount with clean fingers as needed. Remix as desired or required.
Once mixed, the oils and waxes should be evenly distributed throughout the balm. The finished texture will remain rustic and may contain small pieces of firmer wax—this is completely normal.”
