Alpin-Glow: A concentrated Bakuchiol balm for daily use, supports the skin’s needs as we age.
Years spent outdoors have a way of showing up on our skin. Sun, wind, cold, dry air, heat, sweat and changing seasons can leave skin feeling dry, tight and depleted—stressed skin ages faster—and over time, many of us begin looking for skincare that does more than simply moisturize.
That thinking led me to create Alpin-Glow — the most concentrated, most advanced balm in the SUI WASSER lineup.
Alpin-Glow combines a rich balm base with bakuchiol, vitamin C, CoQ10, vitamin E, sea buckthorn berry oil, wild carrot seed oil and other carefully selected emollients and botanicals. The goal is simple: deeply condition and replenish dry, weathered or mature-looking skin while supporting a smoother, more radiant appearance.
Why We Built Alpin-Glow Around Bakuchiol
At the heart of Alpin-Glow is bakuchiol, a plant-derived skincare ingredient often described as a retinol alternative.
Bakuchiol has attracted considerable interest in modern skincare because it offers an intriguing option for people interested in the appearance-focused benefits commonly associated with retinoid skincare, but who may prefer a different approach.
For Alpin-Glow, that made it particularly interesting.
SUI WASSER was created around people who spend significant amounts of time outdoors in the toughest environments on earth—desert, altitude, arctic conditions or simply long days outdoors, week after week. Our skin may already be dealing with wind, cold, dry air and sun exposure. I wanted Alpin-Glow to fit naturally into a rich, replenishing skincare routine rather than feel like another aggressive treatment.
More Than One Hero Ingredient
We didn’t want Alpin-Glow to be a jar of balm with a fashionable ingredient added to the label.
Bakuchiol is surrounded by a broader combination of oils, antioxidants and skin-conditioning ingredients.
Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil brings its distinctive golden-orange color along with naturally occurring carotenoids, fatty acids and antioxidant compounds.
Wild Carrot Seed Oil adds another nutrient-rich botanical oil selected for its skin-conditioning properties.
THDA, or tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, is an oil-soluble vitamin C derivative that fits particularly well into an anhydrous balm.
CoQ10 and Vitamin E contribute to the antioxidant-rich formulation, while bisabolol was selected for its soothing, skin-conditioning properties.
The supporting oil phase includes jojoba, high-oleic sunflower oil, squalane and meadowfoam seed oil—ingredients chosen to help condition the skin and provide the rich glide and lasting emollience we wanted from Alpin-Glow.
Why Put All of This Into a Balm?
A balm behaves differently from a lightweight lotion.
Alpin-Glow contains no water. Instead, its waxes, oils and emollients create a concentrated product that spreads across the skin and helps reduce moisture loss while leaving behind a protective, conditioning layer.
That makes a balm particularly interesting for dry, weather-exposed and mature-looking skin, especially when used after the day’s outdoor exposure is over.
A little goes a long way.
Warm a small amount between clean fingertips and massage it gently into the face, neck or other areas that need additional conditioning. Because Alpin-Glow is concentrated, start small and add more only where needed.
Skincare for the Long Run
Alpin-Glow also represents an evolution in how we’re thinking about SUI WASSER.
Outdoor skincare isn’t only about what happens during a single day in the sun or wind. For people who have spent years skiing, cycling, running, hiking, gardening, working outside or simply living an outdoor life, taking care of our skin is a long-term practice.
That means protecting skin during exposure—including appropriate sunscreen and protective clothing—and taking care of it afterward.
Alpin-Glow is designed for that second part of the equation.
It isn’t sunscreen, and it isn’t intended to treat sunburn or reverse UV damage. It’s concentrated skincare for the hours when the adventure is over: replenishing oils, supporting moisture retention and helping dry, tired-looking skin feel conditioned, comfortable and cared for.
